POLICY:
Lycoming-Clinton Joinder Board will offer internships (CWEB or General) to eligible college students in either their Lycoming Children and Youth Services or Lycoming-Clinton MH/MR Program in order to allow them to gain experience in casework and to develop and evaluate skills for prospective employment.
CWEB Students are responsible to apply and get placed on the State Civil Service List for County Social Casework Intern prior to submitting request for an internship.
All interns will be responsible to obtain Act 33 (Pennsylvania Child Abuse History Clearance and PA State Police Criminal History Clearance) and FBI Clearance prior to start of internship.
All interns placed in the Day Treatment Programs of Lycoming C&Y Services will be required to have a Health Statement Form completed by medical professionals prior to start of internship.
Interns will be required to provide a copy of their Professional Liability Insurance prior to start of internship.
All internships will be non-paid, although CWEB interns are eligible for a program paid stipend.
Interns may not be assigned cases.
Interns may not transport clients either in Agency or personal vehicle.
PROCEDURES:
Internship applicants for Spring Semester will be interviewed in the month of October for a January start date.
Internship applicants for Summer Semester will be interviewed in the month of March for a June start date.
Internship applicants for Fall Semester will be interviewed in the month of May for an August start date.
University Personnel and student will be notified of their selection or non-selection.
University Personnel will be responsible to forward documentation to the Joinder approving the student for an internship which needs to include their start and end date; how many hours are required; and the days and times they will be present to work.
Upon receipt of the school documentation, HR Staff will respond to the student with a selection letter.She will then let you know how she would like you to proceed.
