Child Maltreatment Advocacy Studies (CMAS) Scholarships
There are two scholarship opportunities available for students completing CMAS 493, Child Maltreatment and Advocacy Studies: Capstone Experience, each year.
The de Lissovoy Intern scholarship, funded through an endowment in honor of Vladimir de Lissovoy, is to provide monies for the prevention of child sexual abuse, the treatment of victims of child sexual abuse, and the study of issues related to child sexual abuse.
The scholarship supports one student per year to go to each of the following locations: the Centre County Children's Advocacy Center, Centre County Child and Youth Services, and Dauphin County Children and Youth Services.
Students who have declared the minor will receive applications via e-mail in December of each year for the following fall, spring, and summer semesters. The application will outline the eligibility requirements, award amounts, and expectations for receiving the award.
The Reducing Disparities in Child Welfare scholarship is funded through the Child Maltreatment Solutions Network. The scholarship is designed to support an undergraduate CMAS minor student who demonstrates a clear understanding of and commitment to addressing ethnic and racial disparities in child welfare-serving systems. This focus aligns with the Solutions Network mission to address and reduce disparities in the child welfare field and support diversity, equity, and inclusion with respect to education, research, and practice in the fields of child maltreatment and child welfare.
The scholarship supports two students per year at any internship location.
